Agent Mandates
Let an AI agent spend for you, without trusting the agent or us.
Our HackYeah 2026 project: a Solana program that holds an owner's money in a vault and lets an AI agent pay for things within limits the owner sets. The agent holds no money. Every payment it asks for is checked against a cap per payment, a daily cap, a list of allowed merchants and an expiry date, then held in escrow until delivery.
The hackathon work
What we built, and its limits.
- The program, in Rust: the mandate and escrow accounts, and the instructions for owner controls, agent payments, delivery, refunds and disputes.
- A walletless agent: it only signs short-lived payment requests, so a stolen agent key can at most make capped payments to merchants the owner allowed.
- Disputes that end without an arbiter: both sides post a bond, and if neither moves by the deadline, both lose it.
- It was built and demonstrated with a test token. No real funds moved, and the program has not been audited. The signing service and relayer were demo scripts.
